Education Secretary says teacher assessments will replace GCSE and A-level exams this summer - Newbury Weekly News

Teacher assessments will replace GCSE and A-level exams in England this summer, the education secretary has announced. "This year, we're going to put our trust in teachers, rather than algorithms," Gavin Williamson told MPs in the Commons

It was announced on Monday that schools and colleges in England will move to online learning for all students except those classed as vulnerable and the children of key workers.

Prime minister Boris Johnson acknowledged at the time it would not be “fair” for exams to go ahead as normal due to increase in covid19 cases and national lockdown which has affected schools reopening
